Residential Architecture

Coastal La Jolla is a charming community punctuated by older, small to medium sized homes of notable character. Extensive European influence within the neighborhood inspired this home, designed in the Provence style. The house replaces an older structure, of which only the classically proportioned front wing was retained, window and doors relocated for symmetry. Building shell details recall traditional designs and standards, while interior finishes and details allude to a contemporary renovation within, much as homes in Europe are renovated today. One wall of the basement of the old structure was opened to accommodate a three car garage, while a twisted pine tree conceals the garage entry and suggests a circular drive. Pacific Ocean views are enjoyed across a 210 degree arc.
