The ownership team at the Arciero Vineyards/EOS Estate Winery had the vision to construct a bed and breakfast/events facility on their property to serve the needs of the growing wine industry in the Paso Robles AVA. The facility, designed by Architecture, J. A., Inc, is Italian styled, in keeping with the owner’s ancestry. The focal piece of the design is a formal Italian garden, set on a low plinth looking over vineyards to the north and west while mitigating noise of the rural highway below. The edge of the plinth is supported on battered stone walls and rimmed by a vine covered pergola. There are three buildings as part of the project, a worker housing structure is just across a section of vineyard to the north while the bed and breakfast and a part time home for the owners front on the formal garden. The garden is laid out with various use areas from quiet reflection to the accommodation of up to one hundred people for events. There is an ornate pavilion that terminates an axis across the garden from the B&B defining the gardens edge as views flow into the vineyards beyond. To accommodate varied uses, the B&B has both public and private reception, conversation, and assembly areas.
